About this plan
Acts tells what happened after Jesus’ resurrection: the first believers waiting in Jerusalem, the coming of the Spirit, and a message that travels from city to city until it reaches Rome. It has 28 chapters, so this plan reads one a day for 28 days.
Chapter 2 is Pentecost, and chapter 9 is the meeting on the road that turns Saul the persecutor into Paul. In chapters 10 and 11 the good news reaches people who are not Jewish, and chapter 15 records the council in Jerusalem that decides how the church should respond. The last two chapters are a storm at sea, a shipwreck and the arrival in Rome.
Acts is traditionally read as the second volume of Luke’s work, so it follows naturally after his Gospel. Its own outline is in 1:8: Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and the ends of the earth.
