About this plan
To be holy is to be set apart for God. The Bible speaks of it as something God gives and something his people grow into, and this plan follows that thread across fourteen days, from the laws of Leviticus to the letters of the New Testament.
It opens with Leviticus 19–20, which calls Israel to be holy because God is holy, and Psalm 24. Then it reads Isaiah’s vision of a holy God in chapter 6 together with his warnings about empty religion. The Sermon on the Mount and Jesus’ words in John 15–17 follow, then Paul on living by the Spirit in Romans, Galatians, Ephesians and Colossians. The plan returns to Leviticus’s command in 1 Peter and ends in Hebrews 10–12.
Christians describe this growth in different words, but these readings present it both as God’s gift and as our daily response.
